Kim Kardashian, Iman, Kim Petras - The Most Bizzare Looks of Met Gala 2021 Or New Beuty Standards?
Met Gala is another opportunity for celebrities to unleash imagination and experiment with various looks: retro, weird, bold, wild.
From faceless to bizarre horse look, ahead are the most strange looks of the Met Gala 2021.
Kim Kardashian definitely can make headlines, and her Met Gala 2021 look was not an exception. She appeared in a black faceless look with Balenciaga designer Demma Gvasalia creating a mysterious aura for the onlookers. The designer Demma Gvasalia was also obscured in black, and at first, the fans thought that it was her ex-husband Kanye West, but shortly they found out that it was her designer. However, the onlookers still found a connection between Kim's Met Gala look and Kanye's faceless mask in the album Yeezus.
With gold-painted feathers, gold manicure rings, gown, and pants, Iman had all eyes on her from the moment she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Iman herself described her look at the Met Gala 2021 as a "ray of light" that exudes hope.
Iman's young designer Harris Reed said that it took 400 hours on "hand gluing, hand tacking, hand embellishing, gold leafing, finessing, fittings, traveling from London to here" to create this feathered dress.
"Okay, yes, I was a horse girl in a past life, … and now I guess I'm a fashion girl?" said Kim Petras.
The 29 years famous singer-songwriter Kim Petras (formerly Tim Petras) transformed her love towards horses into her Met Gala 2021 look. Kim proudly did horse pose on the red carpet showing off her sleek horse tail reminding mane. Her look was a challenge to beauty standards. But, bold transformations are not novel to the bright celeb.
BTW, Kim had a gender reassignment surgery at the age of 16 and had hormone replacement therapy when he was still 12. That being said that she was the youngest person in the world who did such surgery.
Naomi Osaka is one of the bold personalities that were not afraid of making a bold and bright statement at the Met Gala 2021. The tennis pro appeared on a red carpet in fiery red makeup, embracing eyeshadow and lipstick and rigid hair braids standing at the sides. Her custom multicolored gown was a payoff of the collaboration of the Osaka sisters and Lous Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquière.
"The first time I met Nicolas, we spoke not only about me working with Louis Vuitton as a brand ambassador but also about how we could find ways to work together and even try and co-design," says Osaka. Thus, they come together to create what we see: an impressive gown made of more than 20 ruffles and 18 meters of satin, and 50 meters of hem. "So it's a dream come true for me that our first design collaboration is something I will wear on the Met red carpet. The fact that Nicolas, Mari, and I could come together bringing this to life is something I am very honored to be a part of," continues Naomi.
